Miss Gee Collection Spring / Summer 2013

As Seoul Fashion Week approached, it was simply impossible to restrict the excitement of the upcoming runways. Inevitably, a countless number of utterly superb garments vied for attention as they graced the catwalk. Irrefutable captivation was the only way to describe the shows that would provide the fashion world with the fashion for the Spring/Summer 2013 season.

Captivation was achieved as cutting-edge Korean designer Gee Chun Hee presented her Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Seoul Fashion Week, an global business event run by INNOCEAN Worldwide and sponsored by Seoul. It is held twice a year, in March and October, SS/FW collections with strategic projects to grow into top-5 Fashion Week, following New York, Paris, London and Milan.

Gee Chun Hee of Miss Gee Collection is renowned among the celebrities and well-known for her elegant and practical nature of her women’s wear design. Gee, opened the inaugural Seoul Fashion Week in 2000 and has returned since, always making a powerful and stylish statement on the runway.

Hee created delicate yet jaw-dropping pieces that result in an enviable reputation. She launched Miss Gee Collection in a small boutique in Myeong dong in 1979. Since then, the label has grown and expanded to become respected and loved by K-pop celebrities and Korean fashionistas alike. In essence, her legacy has already taken the world by storm. Additionally, she has luxury embellishments as her personal hallmark, many high-end collections under her belt, and a slew of A-list stars wanting her creations. It is no wonder she is on course to becoming a leading fashion figure in Korea and across the world.

Fortunately enough, Gee Chun Hee was a leading fashion figure at Seoul Fashion Week.

The Miss Gee collection routinely mesmerized a crowded room of industry elite, fashionistas, and celebrity acquaintances. Her highly anticipated ready-to-wear collection showed off her signature style and myriad of standout ensembles that were inspired by the female body form. Significantly, her ready-to-wear collection showed strength through defined trimmings and brilliant structure combined with Peter Pan collar tops and full cinch-waist skirts. Meanwhile, hemlines were lengthened and necklines were raised. The combination of structured paneling, flounce dresses and puff-sleeved boleros kept her collection visually intriguing and provided a unique feminine silhouette.

Virtuous, Hee’s cultured understanding of infusing edgy pieces with a delightful air of femininity resulted in a repertoire of consistently elegant, stun-worthy ensembles. Prominently, a tone was set with her versatility of textured materials. Noting, linens, organzas, ramie, mesh, jersey, and carding wool were all deftly utilized in her collection. Then, her soft palette of subtle nudes with pops of pink, mint green, red, and blue oozed femininity. These pops of color added depth to her collection and kept her show vivacious from beginning to end. Thus, the combination of luxurious fabrics, color and awe-worthy designs exemplified Hee’s effortless polish that her fan base loves.

In such, The Miss Gee Spring/Summer 2013 collection was a showstopper that did not go unnoticed as the clothes that once vied, were of well-deserved attention.
