16th Busan International Film Festival Red Carpet Looks

The biggest celebrities of Korea flocked the red carpet of the 16th Busan estFilm Festival (BIFF) also known as the biggest film festival in Asia.  The film festival opened with a bang as the Korean film which stars So Ji-sub and Han Hyojoo’s movie “Only You” was shown.  The 16th Busan Film Festival showcases films from 70 countries.

Among the stars who attended the opening were Jang Dong-gun, Go Soo, Kim Sun-ah, Cha Seung Won, Kim Haneul, Koo Hye Sun, Daniel Choi. Song Sun Mi, Lee Chun Hee and Min Hyo Rin.

Among the many celebrities spotted on the big event were: LeeYoon-ji, Lee Beom-see, Lee Tae-im, Nam Gyuri, Jay Park, Kim So Yeon, Fan Bing Bing, Odagiri Joe, Jang Dong-gun and more.  The film festival will end on October 14.  The K-pop group JYJ also performed at the “Actor’s Night”.

The Busan International Film Festival is open to all members of the film industry.  This year there are a total of 62 films from 15 countries including  Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Taiwanese films.  According to BIFF, “This year’s results represent a sharp increase of 58 percent in market screening films (from 39 to 62) and 36 percent in number of screenings (from 47 to 64). The screenings have also increased this year based on the explosive increase of sales booths (67 percent) and participants (24 percent); as a result, the screening theaters will increase from 4 to 6,.”

Many celebrities were garbed in the most fashionable outfits.  Some wore sophisticated ensembles from famous fashion designers.  The ladies grabbed a lot of attention as some of them wore quirky, sexy and chic dresses.  Some even showed off a lot of skin in their plunging neckline and thigh high slits.  Fan Bing Bing was a sight to behold with her glamorous and attention worthy style.

The men all looked prim and proper but some also added their personal style. The actor Cha Seung-won caught the attention of the media with his one-of-kind cow mustache.

It looks like this is just the beginning of many red carpet events and it would definitely get more exciting seeing fashionable Asian stars garbed in the most fashionable outfit.
