Kakarajima ( Kakara Island ) is located in Genkainada ( The Sea of Genkai ), about 4 km north of northan most tip of the Higashi-Matsuura Peninsula in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. Plenty of natural Tsubaki (camellias) are growing and Kakarajima is well known as Island of Tsubaki from long long ago. In February, the red Tsubaki flowers are blooming all over the Kakara island, and the fruits are harvested in every autumn. Harvested Tsubaki fruits are dried under the sun in 2 – 3 days, and by cold press ( non-heated squeezing process ), the 100 pure natrual Tsubaki oil is extracted. 35% of TSUBAKI SAVON ingredients is Tsubaki ( camellia ) oil which is extracted in Kakara Island, and this amount is equivalent to the extracted oil from 90 pieces of Tsubaki seed.
