The K-pop all girl group Girl’s Generation was one of the biggest winners during the Seoul Music Awards.  It was held last January 20 at the Kyunghee University Hall of Peace in Seoul, South Korea.  In attendance were some of the hottest K-pop artists like 2AM, C.N. Blue, Miss A, SISTAR, SHINee, Son Dambi, BEAST, F.T. Island, IU and other more.
The girls took home the “Daesang” award which is the highest award given by the Seoul Music Awards. Â They also bagged the Hallyu and Popularity Awards. Â This is their second year to get the much coveted Daesang award. Â Their famous hits include “Oh”, “Hoot” and “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)”.
The girls made history in the Korean music scene. Â They are the first all girl group to win two consecutive Daesang awards. Â The Daesang award was calculated based on digital album sales (50%), online voting (20%), votes from judges (20%) and research (10%). Â The Girl’s Generation are among the other 10 artists who were awarded with a Bonsang award. Â The girls thanked their parents, fans and SM Entertainment for their support during their acceptance speech.
The girls namely Yuri, Sunny, Jessica, Hyoyeon, Soo Young, Tiffany, Yoona, Taeyeon and Seo Hyun were garbed in Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011 Ready To Wear Collection at the red carpet of the Seoul Music Awards 2011.
