At the 2010 Korean lifestyle awards, Samsung electronics took the main prize with their new Samsung Galaxy S smartphone and their new Galaxy Tab tablet computer. This commemorates their impressive designs and technology and also their sales performance. The ceremony was hosted by Donga TV in the Grand InterContinental in Seoul. This awards ceremony is the 8th annual Korean lifestyle awards and around 20 different groups, including fashion groups, make up and medical companies, took awards.
The year’s best dressers awards went to the actor So Ji-Sub and Actress Lee Min-Jeong and famous late fashion designers Andre Kim and Choi Kyung-ja were honoured with the Fashion Design Contribution award. Finally, the popular all-girl group F(x) were award the title of best style icon of the year.
The main prize for the fashion and design industry went to Daegu Metropolitan City for their range of successful fashion products that have been released this year including their popular Milan Project and the Daegu Fashion Fair. Hana Bank also got a major prize for their maternity wear range for expectant mothers who still want to be in style. FOREVER 21, despite being American, were also honoured as The Best Fashion Brand of the Year, at the fair and since 2008 their brand has been really popular with young Koreans.
The Unamjeong restaurant was awarded the grand prize for food because of their fantastically creative, yet traditional, twists on Korean dishes which are popular with foreign visitors who want to learn more about Korean delicacies. Still on food, the JUVIS weight loss company, owned by Cho Seong-gyeong, were named the best company for women because of their free weight loss service for low income women, and also for their excellent job creation scheme for women.
